Lasem is a sub-district in Rembang, Central Java, Indonesia. This is the second largest city in Rembang Regency after the city of Rembang.

Lasem is also known as "small China" because it was the initial city of Chinese landings in Java and there are many Chinese villages scattered in the city of Lasem. In Lasem there are also gold-plated Buddha statues.

Nearest Destination

Rembang covers an area of 887.13 km2 on Java. It is a lowland, with a maximum elevation of about 70 metres (230 ft) above sea level. The Solo River flows through its inland section. The regency is crossed by the North Coast Road, an inter-province main road on the island.
