Sukarara is a small village located in Jonggat District, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. The village which is about 25km from the city of Mataram can be reached for 30 minutes using a motorized vehicle.
The most interesting thing in this village is woven fabrics that have distinctive characteristics with designs and motifs that are different from woven fabrics in other regions in Indonesia. Most of the villagers work as woven fabric craftsmen. Even though they still use traditional looms, but weaving works from the village community
Sukarara has good quality and is amazing. To preserve the weaving culture that has been passed down from generation to generation, every community in the village of Sukarara is obliged to study weaving from childhood.
